Street Photography

Artist Statement

Click! This is the magic noise that lets me know I’ve captured a single moment in time. This one moment explores the idea of identity and life through street photography. As a photographer I find it is important to go out and find these moments of life. When photographing I focus on composition and making decisions about stationary objects within my viewfinder. Once I’ve found my composition, I wait for any kind of human interaction. Then, in that moment I take the picture. This way of working is how I feel I am able to capture peoples’ identity and life as it happens. I strive to capture this because I find human individuality is interesting and want to explore more about how this make us who we are.

“There is a creative fraction of a second when you are taking a picture. Your eye must see a composition or an expression that life itself offers you, and you must know with intuition when to click the camera. That is the moment the photographer is creative. Oop! The Moment! Once you miss it, it is gone forever.”
